Transportation information in the NTL, TRID, ITRP and Other Sources

Transportation research and development is a very active area in industry and academia. Emerging trends such as in electric vehicles; autonomous vehicles; traffic forecasting; big data for transportation and mobility; information systems in network technologies; intelligent transportation systems; sustainable transportation; high-speed rail; advances in road infrastructure; advances in public transportation; and new materials are often found in the literature (Grazia Speranza, 2018), (Porter et al., 2015), (Liu et al., 2020).

In this article, some open resources in transportation research are presented.

National Transportation Library (NTL) https://ntl.bts.gov/ntl

Administrated by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), NTL is the home of ROSA P the Repository and Open Science Access Portal, a full-text database. Other services are: the

National Transportation Knowledge Network (NTKN); Subject Guides about: Accessibility; Persistent Identifiers; Research Tools; ROSA P; Transportation and Climate Change Clearinghouse; and the Transportation Librarians Roundtable .

Transportation Research International Documentation Database (TRID) http://trid.trb.org/

It is an integrated database containing more than 1.3 million records, many available full-text, from several top transportation resources.

The Transportation Research Thesaurus (TRT) http://trt.trb.org

It is a valuable tool for the indexing and retrieval of transportation documentation and sources.

International Transport Research Portal (ITRP) http://www.intransport.eu

It is a portal of the European Community, ITRP promotes information in transportation produced mainly in Europe and with some world-wide coverage.

University Transportation Centers (UTC) https://www.transportation.gov/utc/list-centers

This is federal funded program to promote education and research in transportation. This site provides listings of UTCs.
